The Purge...

For me, 2018 can be summed up in one word “Purge”…

This was the year I shed the most amount of thoughts, beliefs, habit patterns, routines, self-imposed limitations and even people who were not only no longer serving me but were actually bad for me. I practically shed the skin I was in the first 35 years of my life.

Something happens when you grow… Vibrationally, things, people, circumstances, thoughts and habit patterns that you used to be able to indulge in now fall out of your life. The new version of you can no longer tolerate them. In fact, you will feel “off” when experiencing them. And truth be told, it’s not always easy to deal with it all. In fact, it can be pretty hard and painful.

I recently had a conversation with someone during which I warned her of some of the consequences of growth. There is a price to pay for growth and sometimes it is a lot more costly and painful than you may think it’s going to be.  But is worth it? you may ask… Hell Yeah! My happiness and the actualization of my best self is so important to me that the admitted excruciating pain and darkness of this “purge” was absolutely worth the joy, bliss, hopefulness and clarity that is my current reality.

During this process, I had to challenge everything I believed about myself and really face the lies that I’ve believed for so long and shed them once and for all. The cost was more than I can disclose in this blog but the freedom and lightness are totally worth sharing.

Emerging from this recent experience, let me be the one to confirm for you that the life you want that you may think is impossible for you is actually not only possible, but it’s at your doorstep. You have only to release the “shit”, the resistance, the people, the “off beat” energy that separates you from a free-flowing download of your blessings into your life experience.

I’m not going to bore you with the details of the process, but I will share some of the lessons that I captured in my journal throughout my “purge”.

  1. If it’s costing you your peace, whatever “it” is… IT HAS TO GO!

  2. Who you think you are and who you really are are two different people and working from your true self is where happiness and bliss are so get there as fast as you can.

  3. If it doesn’t feel good and requires effort from you that you can’t find the desire in yourself to give, you don’t want it and you should never force yourself to go after something you don’t truly want…it’s just not for you and that’s ok.

  4. Your job, ultimately, is to shed the resisting energy that stands between you and what you want. The task, therefore, is to take inventory of all the things in your life that don’t feel good and shed them one after the other. I promise that if it’s for you, it won’t feel bad and you’ll want to work on it.

  5. This process can be scary, emotionally exhausting and may I dare say, dark and borderline depressing…however, it’s a roller coaster worth riding…

  6. If you feel like there is something more for you, there is…

  7. Journal the process… it’s FREE therapy.

  8. Surround yourself with good/nonjudgmental listening ears…Another source of FREE therapy. If you can’t find such ears in your immediate surroundings, there are groups out there full of those kinds of ears: from church to empowerment groups; they are out there…

  9. You are responsible for ONE person’s happiness: YOURS! “THEY” will be alright… You need to be “good” for you AND for “THEM”…

  10. SURRENDER SURRENDER SURRENDER…There is an intelligence greater than you and anything you can think up that knows the answers to your most pressing questions and needs and it will not move on your behalf until you surrender….

Until next time…
