It all started when...

Kara’s father was brutally murdered back in Haiti when she was only 14 years old. Kara was faced with 2 choices: either she would become a victim of her circumstances and succumb to the feelings of pain, anger, resentment and contempt she saw herself develop towards the people who had caused her father’s death (btw, justice still hasn’t been served to date although the culprits were identified) or she could resolve to create a life that would make her father proud. She chose the latter.

Despite her mother’s disapproval...

Kara decided to leave Haiti by herself and immigrated to the United States in 1999, at the age of 16, where she pursued her last year of High School and College education in Garden City, New York. During her first year in college, her maternal grandmother’s house where she was staying caught on fire- her grandmother did not make it. Kara pulled herself back up once again and graduated Cum Laude from Adelphi University with a double major in Political Science and Business Management. Kara moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2005 where she obtained her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University.

Then a perceived setback changes everything...for the better

While waiting for the the bar results, Kara found out she was pregnant with her son Luc (the biggest blessing of her life). What appeared to be a major setback for this rookie lawyer who was hoping to make partner somewhere before starting a family become the catalyst that would send Kara down the path her life was to go. Kara’s pregnancy forced her to look to entrepreneurship for freedom and flexibility from her 9-whenever Associate position at a boutique Securities Litigation firm. Soon thereafter, she joined Mary Kay Cosmetics where she met success as a Pink Cadillac Sales Director. That is also when Kara discovered she had a gift to empower and motivate people, especially women, to show up as their best self to create what they truly wanted out of their business and their lives. During that time, Kara also founded and built a very successful Personal Injury law practice. Kara went on to author her first book: 28,000 Days…Make yours Count! in which she lays out the source of the courage, confidence and resolve to which she credits her success.
